Yes, surplus energy that is not used can be sold to the trading company if the facility allows it.

In this case, a financial benefit can be obtained through 2 options:

1. Sell it on the electricity market (so you must be registered as a producer and comply with all the regulations that the electricity sector law establishes in this case).
2. Request compensation, so you need to take advantage of a simplified compensation mechanism (also called "net invoice"). This mechanism, developed in Royal Decree 244/2019, allows, in certain cases of installations of up to 100 kW of installed power, to compensate on a monthly basis in the invoice the surplus with the consumption, without the need be registered as a producer and without economic activity.

There are many aids and subsidies to install solar panels throughout the territory.

1. On the one hand, before starting the works on the installation, it is necessary to complete the corresponding municipal procedure with the town hall in question. In this sense, it should be noted that the standard ordinance model that has been promoted by the ICAEN and that has been approved within the framework of the Photovoltaic self-consumption promotion table, proposes a very simplified procedure of prior communication for photovoltaic self-consumption installations. 2. On the other hand, there is the industrial and energy safety procedure with the competent body of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which in this case is the Directorate General of Energy, Industrial Safety and Mining Safety.
